Dr. Michael Nelles, a German expert, has been employed by Hefei University as visiting professor since March, 2002. He succeeded in promoting bachelors and masters training cooperation programs between Hefei University and University of Applied Sciences and Arts Hildesheim/Holzminden/Goettingen. This program started to enroll students from the autumn of 2002 and by the end of 2006, 260 Chinese students had been sent to German university for study. At present, some of these students have finished their studies and started to work in German enterprises. Professor Nelles commits himself to spreading advanced European teaching ideas and promoting science, technology and industry cooperation in terms of environmental protection, which makes an especially great contribution to economic cooperation between the State of Lower Saxony, Germany and Anhui province.
